Update: ‘Why I killed my father at RCCG camp’

Twenty – one years old Tolani, Ajayi, has given an insight into why he killed his father,  Charles Ajayi(SAN), stabbing him
repeatedly with a kitchen knife and also cutting the man’s throat with machete.
The 300 level student of Department of History and International Relations of the Redeemer University(RUN) Ogun State, said he was driven by a  fit of anger to slaughter his father last Thursday inside the Redemption Camp along Lagos – Ibadan Expressway.

His father’s remains were recovered in a nearby bush at Canaan land Street within the RCCG  Camp, in a box, where Tolani dumped them after he had hacked the man to death.
But on Tuesday at Eleweran, the Headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force, Ogun State Command, the lad who admitted that he was into drugs at a time, said substance played no part in the lethal attack, and begged his mother and siblings to forgive him for what he did.

Narrating how the incident happened to reporters, Tolani said it has dawned on him that unless providence helps him, his end
is “inevitable.”
      “I have sent some people to talk to my mother that I am sorry. I have talked to my sister,  my mother is still grieving, I want
to give her time. It may be spiritual, I have asked for forgiveness.

“I tried those drugs myself, I might have had it from my friends, but I tried it myself. I was not under the influence of
any drugs, the action was not a planned one.
“The incident happened around 1:00 am . It was anger that led me into this. My father just bit me repeatedly with his teeth. There was an argument between us and I stood up to him. He beat me with a stick and bit me with his teeth.
Just the two of us were at home, my mother was in Abuja.
“We live in Abuja. I school in the camp and he came for a programme. My school was on break so I went to meet him. We
were meant to go back to Abuja together, then the incident happened and here I am now.
“My father went to the kitchen and fetched a wooden spoon. He used it to beat me repeatedly and I tried to defend
myself, then he bit me on my shoulder and I got angry. I used normal  small kitchen knife, later, I used cutlass to attack him.
I regret the action.

“There is no way Nigerians can help me, I am going to face my judgement. I am meant to pay for what I have done. It is not as
if I am ready, it is something that is inevitable, something that is going to happen, I am just waiting for the time.

” It is not about church, I attended the church activities
regularly while in school. I don’t miss church throughout this semester, I never missed church for once,it is not about the church,but only God knows why,” Tola said.

Bomb Explosion Hits Kaduna

A bomb explosion hit a location in Kaduna town this afternoon.

The explosion has shattered many of the plate glass windows of some of the business premises surrounding the area where the
explosion occurred.

According to a senior security official, the explosion occurred around the Asikolaye/Bakin Ruwa area along the Kaduna
western bypass.

Details of fatalities, casualties and other damage in the area are sketchy at this moment. Details on this latest attack will appear later.

A woman in new Mexico was arrested this morning by officers of the Albuquerque Police Department in what could be the most extreme case of stalking ever recorded in the history of the country. The 28-year old woman allegedly not only called her ex-lover a formidable 77 639 times in a week, but also sent him 1937 emails, 41 229 text messages, 217 sung messages and 647 letters in the same period. Linda Murphy, who has an history of obsessive compulsive behavior, would have badly taken her breakup with William Ryans, with whom she had had a relationship for three weeks. She is accused of using up to three phones at once to call him, 24 hours a day, on his cell phone, home number and at work. The woman would have ingested large quantities of energy drinks and amphetamines to remain awake and would have gone sleepless for a week, calling her ex nonstop. In the words of the plaintiff's lawyer, “My client is profoundly relieved that Ms. Murphy is finally behind bars” he went on to state thus, “He hasn’t been able to sleep, work or enjoy life in any way, for more than a week. He was having a hard time thinking clearly and was nearing depression, it was about time the harassment ceased. Now all we want is for Ms. Murphy to get the medical help she needs, and for the law to keep her away from my client.” The accused is expected to appear in the state court tomorrow in Albuquerque, and most experts presume that the judge will order a psychological evaluation of the woman to determine if she is capable of standing trial.

Woman steals van, returns vehicle to owner after finding 3-year-old inside

SALT LAKE CITY – A woman allegedly stole a van in Salt Lake City Sunday, but the suspect returned the van after she realized there was a child inside.

Police said the incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. in the area near 530 S. Concord St. when Isabella Ortega left her van running with her 3-year-old daughter, Maya, inside and then went to make sure her house was locked; while Ortega was away from the van another woman jumped inside and drove off.

“I turn around and my car is running and I say, ‘my baby, my baby is in there,’” Ortega said.

Officials with the Salt Lake City Police Department said the suspect wasn’t aware of the child until she had driven a few miles west.

“Our suspect felt remorse, turned around, came back to the home where she stole the van, got out knocked on the front door and asked if she could wait inside for police, basically turning herself in,” said Lt. Scott White.

The child was not injured.

The suspect has been identified by authorities as 22-year-old Idaly Proano. She now faces charges for stealing property and possession of drugs, and police said the woman has been arrested for drug-related crimes in the past.

Ortega said it’s not the first time she’s seen the woman in her neighborhood.

“I say I think I know her because I saw her face, I know her, I don’t know where,” Ortega said.

As for Maya, she seemed unfazed by the entire ordeal. Just another day in the life of a 3-year-old.

“I asked her, ‘were you scared when she took you?’ and she said ‘no,’” Ortega said. “She has a book and maybe she played with that and doesn’t know who was driving.”

Police are thankful the suspect had enough sense to return the child.

“You hate to say you thank the thief, but in this case you thank the thief for not harming the child,” White said.

Police officials said the incident is a reminder that it is never a good idea to leave a child in a car by themselves, even in your own neighborhood.

Toddler's dad researched hot-car deaths of children online, officer said in warrant

The suspect in a Georgia toddler's death told police he used the Internet to research child deaths inside vehicles, a search warrant said.

The father, Justin Ross Harris, 33, has pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and second-degree child cruelty in the death of his 22-month-old son, Cooper Harris. The boy died after he was left seven hours in a sweltering SUV on June 18.

"During an interview with Justin, he stated that he recently researched, through the Internet, child deaths inside vehicles and what temperature it needs to be for that to occur," according to a sworn statement in the warrant from a police officer. "Justin stated that he was fearful that this could happen."

According to search warrants from a Cobb County magistrate court, investigators seized a number of items from the father's home: An iPhone 5, Hyundai car, home laptop computer, computer tower, a "Google chrome cast Internet searcher" and other electronic devices.

Cobb County Police said the purpose of the search warrants was to find blood, DNA, writings and photographs relating to child abuse, child neglect, homicide to children and cruelty to children.

Harris sits in jail without bond, with an appearance before a judge set for next Thursday. Police in Cobb County, part of metro Atlanta, have been tight-lipped and haven't said whether what they found on the computer is one of the reasons they arrested Harris.

Father calls in to son's funeral

Though Harris wasn't allowed out of the Cobb County Jail to attend his son's funeral on Saturday in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, he called in and spoke to the entire auditorium on speakerphone.

Justin Ross Harris has pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and second-degree child cruelty in the death of his 22-month-old son.

"Thank you for everything you've done for my boy," he said. "Good life. (Inaudible) No words to say. Just horrible. (Inaudible) I'm just sorry I can't be there." "

He told everyone he loved them and started crying again.

The child's mother had wanted to obtain photos of her son from seized computers for use at the funeral, but Cobb County police turned down her request, said Maddox Kilgore, the attorney for Harris.

Police spokesman Michael Bowman told CNN, "If we have evidence, we will not be releasing that due to chain of custody issues."

Bowman would not confirm what, if any, evidence they had in their possession.

A charity fund at Harris' employer, The Home Depot, will pay for the funeral, company spokeswoman Catherine Woodling told CNN. Harris, who worked as a Web designer, has been placed on unpaid administrative leave, she said.

The funding of the funeral from the Home Depot charity, the Homer Fund, is a "standard approach," she said.

In an obituary for Cooper appearing in the Tuscaloosa News newspaper, the family asks that in lieu of flowers donations should be made to the Homer Fund.

'What have I done?'

Initially, police described the death of the toddler as the result of tragic absent-mindedness.

They said the dad had apparently forgotten the boy was in the back seat of his Hyundai Tucson; he didn't remember until he was done with his workday, drove a couple of miles and pulled into a shopping center parking lot.

But suspicions grew as police investigated.

"The chain of events that occurred in this case does not point toward simple negligence, and evidence will be presented to support this allegation," said Cobb County Police Chief John House.

A criminal warrant released Wednesday described the events that led to Cooper's death.

A timeline of events

On the day Cooper died, Harris stopped for breakfast at a fast-food restaurant and afterward strapped his son into a rear-facing child restraint seat on his SUV's back seat, police said.

He drove to his workplace, a Home Depot corporate office, about a half-mile away. He works as a Web designer there.

Usually, he would take his son to an on-site day care. But that day, police said, Harris left him in the car seat.

During his lunch break, he returned to his car, opening the driver's side door to put something inside, police said.

After work, around 4:16 p.m., the 33-year-old father got in his car and drove away. A few miles away, he stopped the car at a shopping center and called for help.

When it became clear Cooper was dead, Harris was so inconsolable police had to restrain him.

"What have I done?" he wailed as he tried to resuscitate the boy.

A wave of sympathy

Each year, dozens of children die from heatstroke in cars, according to KidsandCars.org. More than 40 died last year. The organization says its tally is likely incomplete and much lower than the real toll.

The charging of Harris triggered a wave of sympathy and a vigorous debate over whether the heartbroken father should be punished.

Two change.org petitions urging authorities to release Harris were started and then shut down this week. One petition posted this note: "I think that based on the recent developments this petition is no longer relevant. I still pray that this was truly an accident. If that is the case, the DA now knows that the community does not want Justin prosecuted on murder charges."

Another, set up at YouCaring.com, has raised more than $22,000 for the Harris family.

"Please don't listen to the media. It just upsets me to watch it," wrote Heather McCullar, who set it up. "Please don't listen to the media. The family will speak when they can."

Contacted by CNN via e-mail, she wrote back, "No one is allowed to comment right now."

'The manner of death is homicide'

As Harris sits in jail, his wife, Leanna, would not discuss the case with the media.

The Cobb County medical examiner's office found the child's cause of death "consistent with hyperthermia and the investigative information suggests the manner of death is homicide," according to a Cobb County Department of Public Safety statement issued Wednesday. Temperatures hit 92 degrees Fahrenheit on the day of his death.

The medical examiner's office is waiting for toxicology test results before making an official ruling as to the cause and manner of the toddler's death.

Oputa Burial: Charly Boy battles Gov Okorocha in church

The funeral mass organised at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oguta, Imo State for the late Justice Chukwudifu Oputa ended abruptly yesterday as his son, Charles Oputa aka Charly Boy stopped Governor Rochas Okorocha from making a speech in the church. Okorocha, who was equally angry that protocol was breached by President Goodluck Jonathan who was represented at the mass by the Secretary of the Government of Federation, Chief Anyim Pius Anyim by speaking before him, rose to make his speech but Charly Boy seized the microphone from the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Jude Ike, which created confusion in the church.

The officiating priest and Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Most Rev. (Dr) Matthew Hassan Kukah had pleaded with Charly Boy to
allow Okorocha speak, but he refused, saying he would not allow his father’s burial to be politicised. An ostensibly angry Okorocha started fuming in the church, which made the Attorney General of Imo State, Chukwuma Umeh, to order the lawyers who gathered in the church to leave. As the lawyers were leaving, the dignitaries who attended the mass began to leave in droves as Okorocha and his convoy drove away in anger before the body of Oputa was taken back to his country home for interment.

Governor Okorocha had voted N20 million for the burial of Oputa, but the state lost track of the burial arrangement as the Oputa family shot the door on the burial plan. Charly Boy was quoted to have warned the Imo State governor to stay away from his father’s burial, but no reason was given for his action.

Anyim had read the president’s condolence message to Charly Boy in the church with Jonathan saying that he received with
great sadness the demise of the eminent jurist. Jonathan described the late Oputa as a respected public servant, patriot and internationally acclaimed jurist. “He was not only an outstanding icon, he also readily gave himself in the service of our fatherland in demonstration of his faith in the emergence of a strong, united and prosperous Nigeria,” Jonathan said.

In his sermon at the mass service, Bishop Kukah said that the late Oputa was a man of justice and equity who, while was alive,
ensured that other people were not treated unjustly.

Kukah who served in the popular Oputa panel with the late jurist advised Nigerians, particularly politicians to emulate his
legacies.

Another Explosion Averted At EMAB Plaza, Abuja…As Police Recover 13 Bombs At Kano Praying Ground

But for vigilance and timely response of
security agents, another improvised explosive device (IED) would have exploded at EMEB Plaza shortly after the one that killed 21 persons and send many others to hospitals for treatment on Wednesday.

Coordinator of the National Information
Centre (NIC) Mr. Mike Omeri said this in
Abuja Friday afternoon when he led other
members of the Centre in a media briefing on government’s efforts to curb insurgency in the country. He explained “that their prompt action on that afternoon led to the arrest of one of the attackers and the killing of another that was almost using his gadgets to detonate the second and possibly the third deadly device.” Omeri however, disputed popular insinuations that the CCTV cameras installed around some areas in the Federal Capital Territory are not functioning as a syndicate has stolen most of the batteries installed in them. He narrated that Minister of the FCT, Senator Bala Mohammed told him that the cameras were functioning and that more are to be installed. Omeri however, advised citizens to also install the cameras in their premises to complement that of government. While refusing to give details, the Director General of the National Orientation Agency gave the assurance that efforts by the military especially in the North East to subdue the Boko Haram terrorists were progressing steadily and that the war was being won by government troops.

“While we do not want to go into details of
operations currently taking place, it is advised that the practice in which some persons just bandied figures of casualties on either the side of the military or insurgents should be discouraged and checked. The truth remains that the military is winning the war and the
nation shall surely triumph in this fight”, he
declared.
He also urged Nigerians especially parents
and school pupils to ignore messages on the
social media that some schools were being
targeted for attack and assured that
security agencies were working assiduously to ensure that schools are safe and academic activities remain unhindered.
While responding to worries that terrorism
suspects were being held without trial, Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Frank Mba, who was promoted to the rank of an Assistant Commissioner of Police on Thursday appealed to the public for patience. Mba noted that investigations on terrorism cases are tenuous and strenuous but pledged that once investigations were concluded, every suspect would arraigned in court for trial.

Meanwhile, a major bloodbath was today
averted in Kano as policemen intercepted 13 gas cylinders of Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) primed to explode on worshipers at a Jumat Praying Ground in the state capital. The Improvised Explosive Devices were loaded in a rickety ox- blood starlet Toyota car with registration number AV 234 NSR , within the surrounding of the Praying Ground at Sauna General Area, Dakata in Kano State, a few minutes ahead of the praying time which was to commence at 2.00pm. Briefing newsmen on the development at the Bompai headquarters of the Command, Kano State Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Adenrele Shinaba, said that the IEDs were already primed and were tickling to the hour of explosion, when they were intercepted by the police, adding that if they had exploded on the innocent worshippers, the Abuja tragedy, two days back, would have been a child’s play.
The Commissioner, who also displayed a remote control key, billed to trigger off the
explosion, also announced the recovery of some live bullets in the ill fated vehicle.

Talking about the recovery of the IEDs, he said the police received information from the members of the public that a vehicle was abandoned in their vicinity.
He added that following the tip off from the community, the police immediately dispatched detectives of its Explosive Ordinance Unit to the spot adding that upon arrival, the vehicle was screened and found to be loaded with explosive devices.
He explained that the police immediately
asked residents of the area to leave the
vicinity of the parked car, following which
they detonated the first gas cylinder, adding that the impact of the single detonation shook several houses simultaneously and made a very load, huge explosive sound.

Following this development, the Explosive
Ordinance Unit advised that the rest of the
explosive devices should not be denoted at the point, but should be removed to somewhere else to ensure they were safely detonated.
He thanked Kano residents for the timely
information while restating that if the
terrorists had succeeded, “the agony would
have been unimaginable by now”

NDLEA arrests 11 school children over drug abuse and trafficking

Eleven secondary school students and a hotel manager were recently arrested in Kaduna by officials of the Kaduna State
National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, after being caught in a hotel taking Psychotropic substances.

NDLEA Kaduna State Commander, Mohammed Jibrin made this revelation atThe International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking programme which held in Kaduna, June 24th.
Mr Jibrin saidthe students comprising of seven girls and four boys were arrested following a tip off, adding that eight of
the students arrestedwere still in Junior Secondary school. He said parents of the students arrested have been invited for
questioning and counseling while the hotel manager is still under investigation.

5 Feared Dead In Lagos Explosion

There was an explosion in Apapa area of Lagos State last night, which left five persons dead with many others injured.

While some claimed that it was due to the activities of a suicide bomber, others said that it was a gas cylinder that exploded.

Emergency response agencies also denied that the explosion was caused by a suicide bomber, attributing it to a cooking gas cylinder that was being refilled.

The explosion occurred at 26 Creek Road, Apapa, which is the premises of Folawuyo Energy an Gas, it was learnt.

It was gathered that the late arrival of both federal and state fire service personnel was responsible for the large casualty recorded.

An eyewitness told our reporter that the incident occurred around 8.45pm, just as he disclosed that several dismembered human parts littered the ground.

He said: “I have counted about five corpses already removed. The suicide bomber died too and there are many dismembered bodies here.

“I just heard a thunderous sound off Creek Road and that was how people started running towards different directions. They are still bringing people out now.”

Another source claimed that the suicide bombers threw the explosives into the premises and zoomed off.

He alleged that they were two and one of them wore a Hijab and both terrorists fled after throwing the explosives into the company.

When contacted, the Director, State Fire Service, Rasaq Fadipe and National Emergency Management Agency’s (NEMA) Southwest spokesman, Ibrahim Farinloye said they were told it was a gas explosion.

Fadipe said his men could not enter the compound early enough because the company did not allow them access.

He said: “Suicide bomber? That is not the information I have. We were told of a fire outbreak caused by the explosion of a gas cylinder in an energy company.I cannot give you exact details because my men could not get easy access to the place. But they are on ground and casualty details will be given when the threat is brought under control.”

Farinloye, who said he was unaware of the details, told the media that he had contacted the police and fire service and they told him it was a gas explosion.

Twenty-four hours after soldiers made public the arrest of  486 Boko Haram suspects in Abia State, Defence Headquarters  (DHQ) yesterday revealed that one of the most wanted terror kingpins was among those being held.

This is coming at a time when organisations have called for tighter security in the South-East, especially with the discovery of two bombs in a church in Owerri.

Soldiers attached to the 144 Battalion of the Nigerian Army, in Asa, near Aba, Abia State, had intercepted 35 buses loaded with suspected insurgents and heading for Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital on Sunday. Two of the buses, also conveying some suspects and in the convoy, escaped.

In a statement by Major General Chris Olukolade, Director, Defence Information, the Defence Headquarters stated that a terror kingpin on the list of wanted terrorists, whose name was not revealed, was detected during the screening of the suspects arrested in Aba.

It stated that all security agencies and para-military groups were involved in the screening of the suspects, adding that the exercise would identify “possible security risk or illegal immigrants.”

Olukayode stated that the nabbed most wanted terror kingpin has been taken into custody.

The statement, entitled: “Update on the screening of 486 arrested travellers in Abia State:  Wanted terror kingpin nabbed,” reads: “A terror kingpin in the list of wanted terrorists of security forces in Nigeria have been detected in the ongoing screening of the 486 suspects nabbed while travelling in over 33 Hiace Hummer buses at night along Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway last Sunday.

“So far, other security agencies, including the para-military, have joined the screening to ascertain the status of the remaining suspects.  Those identified as possible security risk or illegal immigrants are expected to be identified for further action.

“Meanwhile, the identified terror kingpin has been taken into custody.  Further development will be communicated to you in due course.”

In a related development, security operatives have been deployed in boundary communities in Rivers and Abia states to smoke out the escapee suspects, as it was feared that they may have taken refuge in the villages, since their movement to Port Harcourt was aborted.

It was also gathered that the security agents have been asked to comb the communities for strangers. The security operatives are to liaise with community leaders and youths, who would easily know strangers among them.

According to a military source, “the escape of two buses is a source of worry. Since soldiers who intercepted the buses, the suspects may have run into the boundary communities,  security operatives have been deployed in the area to search for them. It will be easy to find them out if they are in the communities.”

The suspects, who are being detained at the Ngwa High School military camp in Aba, are being interrogated.

Sources revealed that after the interrogation, the suspects would be handed over to the Department of State Security (DSS), for possible prosecution.

Meanwhile, the Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO) and the Hausa community in Aba have called for the strengthening of security in the area.

Chairman of CLO, Aba unit, Dr. Charles Chinekezi, said the arrest of the suspects and Sunday’s discovery of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), at the auditorium and car park of the headquarters of the Living Faith Church (aka Winners’ Chapel), was a clear indication that the Boko Haram insurgents have infiltrated the South-East.

Chinekezi said since this was the case, governments of the zone should beef up security. He said since insurgents have allegedly infiltrated federal security organs, the South-East governors should make special security arrangement to curb any security challenge.

Also, the former Amir-ulhajj of Abia State and Deputy Chairman of Aba Muslim Community, Alhaji Musa Iheakaram, has urged the state government and security agencies operating in Abia and the entire South-East to beef up security in their states.

Alhaji Iheakaram, who spoke against the backdrop of last Sunday’s botched bombing and the arrest of 468 Boko Haram suspects, said it is obvious that the insurgents may have made an in-road into the South-East.

“The discovery of the IEDs planted at the headquarters of the Living Faith Church in Owerri by terrorists should be an eye opener because what happened in Owerri on Sunday could happen to any church or mosque in Aba,” he stated.

Arguing that rumours do not go for nothing, Alhaji Iheakaram advised the state government and security agencies not to dismiss the infiltration of Boko Haram into Aba, but going a step further to beef up security in the city.

Viewing Centre: 7 Killed, 40 Injured In Yobe Bomb Blast Abdullahi Umar

A bomb blast yesterday rocked a viewing centre in Nayinawa ward of Damaturu, Yobe State capital, where followers of FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014 were watching Brazil and Mexico match, killing seven while 40 others were injured.

A resident of the area told LEADERSHIP last night that the incident occurred around 8:40pm during the first half of the match, although details of the attack were sketchy as at the time of filing this report. The state police command was yet to confirm the incident, but efforts made to reach the state police commissioner, Patrick Egbuniwe, for his comment proved abortive.

Explosion On Benue Bridge Nearly Paralyses Movement In Makurdi

A powerful explosion rocked the new bridge in Makurdi, Benue State, which links the Northern part of the nation to the
southern part, on June 17, 2014, Tuesday, around 3pm.

According to a report by DalityTrust, the explosion was caused following a collision between a tanker transporting Premium
Motor Spirit and a Peugeot 406.

A local resident confirmed that the reason of the blast was vehicles accident, lamented over horrible gridlock and possible casualties.
Security operatives have organised diversion of traffic from the ever-busy new bridge to the old bridge, Northbank,
Makurdi. The information on the number of victims was not available at the time of filing the present report.

The affected bridge is crucial in linking travellers across the River Benue.

Nigeria n emerges 2nd at Mr World Competition!

Mr. Nigeria 2014, 25-year-old actor and model, Emmanuel Ikubese has emerged second and was also judged the most stylish of all the contestants at the contest which took place in Riviera International Conference Centre, Torbay, UK in the competition.

Overall Winner, Mr. World 2014, Nicklas Pedersen of Denmark (middle) and first runner-up, Emmanuel Ikubese of Nigeria (2nd right), during the Mr. World contest in UK, today. Ikubese, took the 2nd place, following the overall winner, Nicklas Pedersen of Denmark who was immediately announced as the new Mr. World 2014 at the occasion. Our own Ikubese, took to twitter to share his joy at the outcome of the competition. His tweet reads: “I just want to thank God for giving me this great opportunity to represent my country. I came 2nd in the Mr. World 2014 contest…”

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Speaks About Divorce Scandal

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of the popular Love World Assembly, aka Christ Embassy Church has debunked the rumours which went viral that he had divorced his wife, Pastor Anita
Oyakhilome.

Speaking through one of his officials, Kenneth Achumasara, he described the report as the work of mischief makers.
Kenneth said, "I can tell you authoritatively that there is no issue between Pastor Chris and his wife, Anita," adding that the report was baseless and had no iota of truth.
According to him, Rev. Anita is handling the church's UK agency and she is still ministering till date.

Corroborating Kenneth's statement, another official who pleaded anonymity said, "If you go to the UK now you will see
her along with the kids. She is still with him and there is no issue between them. I have been with him for 22 years and the Pastor Chris I know cannot even utter such words as reported.
He will never address such a gathering. She will soon be in Nigeria for a programme and I will definitely invite you to have access to her."

The news of Pastor Chris divorcing his wife went viral on May 28 after a facebook page which was called 'Where is Rev. Anita
Oyakhilome ? was opened by some members of the church who were worried about the absence of Rev. Anita in the church who had not been seen with her husband Pastor Chris since November, 2013.
Not long after the news went viral, some officials of the church denied the report, saying it was false.
